Rockdale hosting 12U state tourney, other area teams headed to state

Rockdale is host to the Texas Teenage Softball Association State Tournament for the 12-and-under division, with the Rockdale Red Hots being the host team. The Lexington Eagles is another area team participating in the 14-team tournament which began on Monday night.

10U Eagles win league championship

MILANO—The Milano Eagles stormed through the competition in their Texas Teenage Baseball League with a 10-0 record in the regular season. The League Champions went 13-2 overall this season and finished in third place in the district tournament in Caldwell.

Strelsky’s journey brings him home

Rockdale Class of 2016 graduate Dustin Strelsky is taking over as head tennis coach this fall. Many of you will recogni ze his name, as you know his story. His story is one of tragedy, heartache, hard work and triumph.

State-bound Scrappers

The Rockdale Scrappers softball team plowed through the competition on their way to a district title in the Texas Teen-Age Softball Association (TTASA) 15-and-Under Division. In four games, they beat Gatesville, Cameron and Thorndale (twice) by a combined score of 53-6.

Cheer teams ready for fall

CHEER CAMP—Rockdale varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders, and Rocky the Tiger, Braylin Blevins, spent a week at Sam Houston State University at Cheer Camp June 12-15.
