‘Meet the Tigers’ set for Saturday

The “Meet the Tigers” event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Tiger Stadium.

Thorndale athletes selected All-State The Texas Sportswriters Association selected Raeghan Carlson for All-State honors in softball. For baseball, Kaden Kovar and Coy Stutts were both recognized as well. ‘Decals with Dad’ scheduled for Aug.

SUMMER CAMPS CONCLUDE

The final two sports camps of the summer finished up last week. The coaches from Rockdale Athletics put on two-day camps for football and volleyball. The football camp (above) included boys from first through ninth grade and had over 40 participants.

Granger Belton SLOW. Water slightly stained; 84 degrees; 0.90 feet below pool. Black bass are slow. Crappie are good on 1/32 ounce jigs tipped with Berkley Crappie Nibbles. White bass are fair on Slab spoons fished over humps. Blue catfish are good on shad drift fished in 25 to 30 feet of water.

The “Meet the Tigers” event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Tiger Stadium.

Athletic parent meeting scheduled

The athletic parent meeting for fall sports for high school and junior high football, volleyball and cross country begins at 6 p.m. July 27, at the high school auditorium. The meeting will go over the athletic handbook for junior high and high school athletes.

‘Pigskin and Pearls’ event set for Aug. 24

The first annual Pigskin and Pearls event will take place the day before the season opener against Teague, on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The event is for all varsity football moms and will cost $20 per person.

‘Decals with Dad’ to be held August 18th

Fathers and male role models for all varsity football players are encouraged to attend Decals with Dad on Aug. 18. After practice that day, at approximately 6 p.m., the mentors will help the boys apply the decals to their helmets. There is no charge for the event.
