Tigers come up short against Teague, 28-21

The Rockdale Tiger varsity team lost a tough match up against the Teague Lions this past Friday at Tiger Stadium. It’s hard to describe this game, it could have been a blow out with the Tigers winning a decisive victory and going into this week’s Taylor rivalry game with some swagger.

Eagles thrash Waco Reicher, 63-6

The Milano Eagles hosted Waco’s Reicher Catholic High School on Friday night and came away with a significant win against the private school. The final score was 63-6. “We were able to capitalize on this young team, our offensive line dominated,” said Milano Head Football Coach Nick Morehead.

Bulldogs fall to Lexington, 45-12

The Thorndale Bulldogs varsity squad lost a road game against the Lexington Eagles on Friday night with the final score Eagles 45, Bulldogs 12. The Bulldogs quarterback junior Gunner Ferguson went 3 for 9 on passing for a total of 23 yards and had 18 yards rushing on the night.

Tigers outplay Robinson, 3-2

The varsity Tigers started out fast in their scrimmage against the Robinson Rockets here at Tiger Stadium last Thursday night. Our Tigers were victorious with a final score of 3-2. Senior veteran starting quarterback Blaydn Barcak did what we all know he can do.

LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

A really good Lady Tiger volleyball team faced a tough challenge last week when the Granger Lions came to town. Former Tiger and Head Volleyball Coach Morgan Laughlin’s team played with a lot of determination but came up short losing three out of the five sets—28-30, 25-21, 25-21, 23-25 and 12-15.

Bulldogs fall short against Chilton

THOR NDA LE—The Thorndale Bulldogs hosted a scrimmage last week against the Chilton Pirates and came up short with a final score of 3-1. Head Coach John Kovar acknowledged, “We struggled, we have some key injuries and we have fundamental areas where we need to improve.

Rockdale cross country teams performed well Friday at the meet held at Apache Pass. The varsity boys team of Jesus Bocanegra, Jose Tenorio, Alex Cooper and Shawn Gerren placed second.

Eagles drop a close scrimmage against Thrall

Set to host Waco Reicher in Friday’s season opener MILANO—The Milano Eagles hosted a well coached Thrall Tigers team last week. This matchup included a controlled- scrimmage as well as a live half. The Tigers prevailed 2-1.

SPORTS BRIEFS

The f re shman Tiger football team scrimmaged against the Robinson Rockets Thursday night. This match up ended in a 1-1 tie. Freshman Tiger tailback Colton Schlottman had an impressive 35-yard run from the line of scrimmage.
