On Friday evening, the Lady Tigers started off slow in their match with Class 4A Taylor, losing 20-25 in the opening set. Falling behind early didn’t deter RHS, as they battled to win three straight sets (25-14, 25-18, 25-10) and taking the victhe tory over the Class 4A Lady Ducks.

Reporter staff writer On Friday evening, the Blue-and-Gold held their own against rival Taylor, a school that had just three wins last season, but play two UIL classifications above the Tigers as a 4A-Division I school and offered Rockdale a challenge in week two of their 2022 season.

MHS football preps for Central Texas Christian After inclement weather canceled last week’s game with Huntsville’s Alpha Omega Academy, the Milano Eagle football team returns to play in Temple on Friday evening. They are set to face Central Texas Christian School.

Lady Tigers go 3-3 at home tourney

Rockdale’s Lady Tiger volleyball team started off hot at their own tournament, beating Holland, Round Rock Meridian and Florence, who they bounced back to beat in two straight sets after falling in the first set to coach Morgan Laughlin’s team.

RHS runners win at Thrall

On Saturday morning, the Tiger cross country team won the Thrall Invitational and the Lady Tiger team placed fourth overall, which head coach Cheryl Meuth described as growth from last year. For the boys, Jesus Bocanegra won the varsity division with a time of 17:07.

Reporter staff writer TEAGUE—In Rockdale’s season opener, what appeared to be an easy victory quickly turned into a battle until the end. The game started off hot for the Tigers, as they led 17-0 with a little more than eight minutes to go in the first half.

Bulldogs fall to top-ranked Lexington, 35-33

In their first game of the season, Thorndale went back-and-for th with Lexington, who came into the game as the 16th-ranked team in Class 3A-II, a classification above the Bulldogs. However, it was the Lee County team and not the Milam County squad that came out on top, with LHS winning 35-33.

Eagles fly over Cougars, 41-7

WACO—This past Friday, the Milano Eagle football team started their season on a high note, with Josh Millar scoring three touchdowns and Andres Ruelas punching in two of his own, propelling MHS to a 41-7 victory over Reicher Catholic.
