Tiger booster golf tourney canceled Due to COVID-19 precautions, Saturday’s 13th annual Rockdale Tiger Booster Club Golf Tournament has been canceled, however, the fish fry will continue with some modifications. The fish fry will be a drive-thru at the RHS field house parking lot starting at 4 p.m.

RENOVATED POOL HOUSE—The Rockdale Country Club pool welcome committee members Raymon Puente, Michelle Fletcher, Jacob Campsey and Kent Greenway show off the spruced up pool house with lots of Tiger Pride. The country club is offering pool memberships for the summer.

Lady Tigers begin summer workouts

After a two-week hiatus, the RHS Lady Tigers resumed their workouts this past Monday. Coaches decided to postpone workouts due to an unidentified participant contracting COVID-19. “Workouts went well.” Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Jacob Campsey said.

Legendary Tiger coach Terry Pope dies

Terry Pope, a legendary Rockdale High School head track coach, whose Tiger track teams more than dominated opponents in the 1990s died June 22 in Austin at age 78.

Softball 15 under league back in action after hiatus

Three Rockdale Girls Softball League teams took the field on Monday, after a two-week-ong hiatus due to a player contracting COVID-19. The Scrappers secured their first victory of the 15 and under division in dominant fashion in the 6 p.m. game against Rockdale Elite 18-0. In the 7:30 p.m.

Thorndale postpones summer workouts

Thorndale’s Athletic Director announced the postponement of summer workouts until Monday, July 13. “We were already planning to postpone workouts this week because the school was shutting down for the 4th of July weekend,” said Head Football Coach and Athletic Director John Kovar.
