SEASON BEGINS— Lady Tiger senior Jasmine Lawhon practicing with the tennis team last week as tennis season arrives.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Lady Tigers soccer team lost last week in a lopsided home game against Giddings, 8-0, before losing on the road against La Grange in penalties, 1-1. The only goal was made by Leydi Mata. The Lady Tiger soccer team is winless in district play.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tigers basketball team lost at home against Franklin, 57-23, last week and then won on the road against Thrall, 29-24. Key players in the Thrall victory were Kyndal Selgelid with 11 points, Jazalle Dunn with nine points and Tanisha McBride with five points.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Rockdale Tigers soccer squad is 2-2 in district play after splitting games last week against Salado and Taylor. SALADO— Big Blue faced some stiff competition against 4A-III 12th ranked Salado. The Tigers lost 3-1 and their lone goal was made by Wilmer Sorto with an assist by Angel Rivera.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING

YOE MEET— Rockdale went to the recent powerlifting meet hosted by Yoe High School in Cameron. Tiger Ethan Stanley came in first place, Cohen Razo placed third, Luke Oliveras and Sebastian Lepe came in fourth.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Blue & Gold basketball team lost last week to Academy, 47-40. Three-point specialist David Penny had eight points and Tiger Josiah Smith had nine points with six rebounds. This was Rockdale’s only game last week. Their current district record is 4-3.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs basketball team is taking care of business as usual this basketball season. Thorndale is 19-6 overall and has an undefeated 8-0 district record. The Bulldogs won against Rosebud-Lott last week, 50-25, and then brought home a W against McDade, 82-31.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The 8-16 and 3-7 in district play Milano Lady Eagles have lost their last three games and hope to reverse their current losing streak this week. Milano lost to the Lady Lions of Granger, 60-28, and to the Holland Lady Hornets, 40-37.

ROCKDALE JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL

TOURNAMENT— The seventh-grade Rockdale Lady Tigers won two out three games at their recent tournament here in Rockdale. The Lady Tigers beat Giddings, 20-12, and Rosebud- Lott, 27-3, and they lost against Elgin, 27-18.
