Bulldogs to begin district play

THORNDALE—The 4-1 Thorndale Bulldogs, who were off last week, are making a serious road trip to the Hill Country this week to take on the Mason Punchers. Mason is only 131.8 miles away so why not? I think someone in Austin forgot Thorndale is located in Central Texas.

THORNDALE VOLLEYBALL

The Thorndale Lady Dogs are on a roll, they are undefeated in district play and have only dropped one set since district started. Thor nd a l e swept Bartlett on the road early last week in three sets, 25-10, 25-16, 25-16.

THORNDALE CROSS COUNTRY

The boys and g i rl s Thorndale cross country teams competed in the district meet held at Granger Lake earlier this week and both are district champions. They will now compete in regionals.

Granger GOOD. Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 0.11 feet below pool. Black bass are good to 7 pounds on worms and crankbaits. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows fished over cover in 4-12 feet of water.

Tigers prep for district play

The Rockdale Tigers had a much needed week off last week and will begin district play this week after a 3-2 start. The Tigers are hosting Little River-Academy at Tiger Stadium. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

ROCKDALE LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tigers hit the road of their games. last week and suffered losses in both The varsity squad lost to Caming Cameron early in the week 17-25, 8-25, 15-25 and then later in the week to Franklin 15-25, 13-25, 13-25.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

Rockdale traveled to Cameron earlier this week to compete in the district cross country meet. The boys varsity (top right) and JV (bottom right) came home as champions. Both teams won the District 19-3A title.

ROCKDALE LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tigers varsity volleyball team is still in a slump. They lost twice last week in front of home crowds. On Sept. 20, they were competitive but lost to a substantial Thrall Tigerette team in three sets—1325, 17-25, 20-25. Then on Friday, Sept.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

The Rockdale Tiger cross country teams competed last Saturday at the Troy Invitational. The varsity boys finished in second place. Jonathan Fuller got a medal for placing fifth with a time of 17:37. The varsity girls team was led by Milagros Cervantes who had a time of 14:36.
