Rockdale Tiger basketball is cranking up. On S at u rd ay t he Tigers faced off at home against Bastrop, the final score was Bastrop 50, Rockdale 48.

Troy thrashes Tigers in home finale

It was a slugfest for the first quarter of the match up against the Troy Trojans last Friday night at Tiger Stadium. Each team put up an amazing number of points in the first quarter— after 12 minutes the Tigers even had the lead, 28-21.

Bulldogs take down Harper

HARPER—Thorndale traveled to Harper last Friday and they put the Longhorns down 40-25. The Bulldogs came out in a scoring frenzy putting 20 points on the board in the first quarter. Quarterback Gunner Ferguson found Kade Becker for a 19-yard touchdown strike. Becker then kicked the extra point.

Eagles edge Bartlett

BARTLETT—The Milano Eagles edged out the Bartlett Bulldogs Friday night 34-31. The Eagles are now 3-3 in district play and 4-5 overall. Milano is in fifth place in the district race.

ROCKDALE CROSS COUNTRY

STATE MEET— Rockdale Tiger freshman Jonathan Fuller ran Saturday in the state cross country meet held at the Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. He finished an amazing 70th out of 150 of the state’s best long distance runners. His time was 17.38 on the 5K course (3.1 miles).

THORNDALE CROSS COUNTRY

STATE CROSS COUNTRY—Congratulations to these Thorndale long distance runners that competed in Friday’s cross country state meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

ROCKDALE BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Tiger basketball season will get started at 12-noon Saturday when they take on Bastrop in Tiger Gym. Big Blue will then play Elgin on the road at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday before returning home to play Robinson at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15.

FISHING REPORT

Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 0.76 feet below pool. Somerville SLOW. Water normal stain; 74 degrees; 1.97 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady. At Somerville Marina, the crappie bite is slow, bluegill and catfish are fair.

The senior members of the Rockdale Lady Tiger volleyball team were honored Friday at their last game—(L-R) Kinley Galvan, Elizabeth Perry, Olivia Rubio, Macy McDaniel, Kayla Ehler, Molly Moody, Ella Hairston. Their season came to a close with a loss in front of the home crowd.
