THORNDALE CROSS COUNTRY

The Thorndale cross country teams ran last week in Moody. Lady Dogs Raven Sandoval placed second and Skielee Bear finished third. Bulldogs Case McDaniel placed sixth and Jaime Llanas came in 11th place.

Goats spoil Rockdale homecoming

Homecoming did not roll out the red carpet for the Blue & Gold last week. The Rockdale Tigers lost to Groesbeck 32-21. Rockdale has got to figure out the math of football. “We had two drives that should have been two touchdowns,” said Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Hunter Hamrick.

Bulldogs blast Hempstead

THOR N DA L E—The Thorndale Bulldogs are back! Thorndale put the bite on Hempstead last week 49-14. Like last week the Bulldogs came out in the first quarter and showed no mercy on their opponent putting up 29 points on the scoreboard.

Eagles topped by Iola

MILANO—The Milano Eagles lost to Iola last week 35-14. The Eagles are now 1-3 and 0-1 in district. “We missed an opportunity early in the game to go up 14-0,” said Head Football Coach Nick Morehead.

ROCKDALE LADY TIGERS VOLLEYBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tigers volleyball team dropped both matches last week. They lost to Academy on the road 0-3 and then lost 0-3 at home against Thrall, who is currently ranked No. 9 in the state.

Granger GOOD. Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 0.32 feet above pool. Black bass are fair on topwaters and crankbaits fished in shallow water. Crappie are good on jigs fished over cover in 4-12 feet of water. White bass are fair along roadbeds with many small undersized fish.

THORNDALE LADY DOGS VOLLEYBALL

The Thorndale Lady Dog varsity volleyball team won both of their matches last week. They beat Snook 3-1—25-17, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17. They also beat Meridian World School in four sets, 25-21, 25-15, 22-25 and 25-17.

THURSDAY’S TIGERS

The Rockdale Tiger JV football team improved to 3-1 after beating Giddings at home 14-8. Key players in the victory were Jaylyn Vrana, Jonathan Fuller, Shawn Gerren, Alexis Sorto and Slayde Harris.

Eagles dismantle Moody

MOODY—The Milano Eagles won their first game of the season last Friday against the winless Moody Bearcats. The final score of this steamroll was Milano 40-0. Former Rockdale Tiger and current head football coach Nick Morehead said, “Our offense played well.

Bulldogs overpower Achieve

AUSTIN—The Thorndale Bulldogs keep rolling. They thumped the winless Austin Achieve on the road last week 61-0. Thorndale came out like a team on a mission in the first quarter scoring 35. The Bulldogs gave quarterback Gunner Ferguson’s arm a break and scored everything on the ground.
