MILANO BASEBALL

The Milano Eagles will be hitting the diamond soon in what Head Baseball Coach Connor Marshall calls a “high expectation” season. “We have most of our players returning from last year and some new guys that will end up playing big roles,” he said.

ROCKDALE POWERLIFTING

Saturday the Rockdale High School powerlifting teams traveled to the Aggieland Showdown Powerlifting Meet in College Station. The team now has six Lady Tigers that will qualify for regionals—Elizabeth Perry, Caressa San Miguel, Shelly Segovia, JaLinda Beard, Averi Borrero and Ashley Reyes.

THORNDALE POWERLIFTING

Thorndale High School powerlifters competed Saturday in the Aggieland Showdown meet in College Station. Above, Deven Cuba placed fourth, while Jordyn Stutts and Kaleb Yount both took first place in their weight classes. Not pictured is Cece Sandoval who had a third-place finish.

MILANO POWERLIFTING

Milano recently not only hosted their own powerlifting meet but the Eagles won it with the Lady Eagles coming in second place. Winning individual weight classes were Andres Ruelas, Gerald Dykes, Shiner Thurman and Drew Welinger.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Tigers had two games last week, both at Tiger Field. NEW TECH— They beat Manor New Tech 2-1. Goals were made by Angel Rivera. CALDWELL— Later in the week the Caldwell Hornets came to town and the Tigers posted another win, the final score was 1-0.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS

Rockdale Tiger tennis has launched. Former Tiger and Head Tennis Coach Dustin Strelsky’s team traveled to Caldwell last week and came home with some medals.

THORNDALE GOLF

Above, the Thorndale Lady Bulldogs golf team took first place in the Thrall Tournament last week, while the Thorndale Bulldogs golf team (below) placed second. (Names were unavailable at press time.)

THORNDALE TENNIS

Thorndale tennis team members Ladin and Hestin Ellington came in third place at the Caldwell Tournament in mixed doubles last week.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Tigers finished off their season last Tuesday night at home against Academy. The final score was Academy 57, Rockdale 45. Tiger Ace Taylor had 19 points in this game. Big Blue only had two district wins.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs are the district champs despite a heart-breaking loss to rival Thrall Tigers. The final score of their regular season finale against Thrall was 59-43. The Bulldogs finished an impressive 11-1 in district and 28-4 overall.
