ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The troubles continue on the softball field for the Rockdale Lady Tigers, as they dropped both of their games against the Troy Trojans last week. No doubt it is a frustrating season for these student athletes. The Blue & Gold lost 11-1 and 10-0.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

Last week the Thornale Bulldogs clinched a playoff spot with their 6-1 win over Milano. Later in the week Thorndale took on Granger and beat them 12-2.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Mi l ano L ady Eagles are on a streak, winning all three of their games last week. The team is currently 10-5 in district play and in second place in the standings. They had a big win against Thorndale, who was unbeaten in district before this loss, that ended in a final score of 9-2.

ROCKDALE SOCCER

Former Rockd a le T i ge r and current Rockdale Head Soccer Coach Gilberto Rodr iguez was recently recognized as Coach of the Year in District 24-4A. Coach Rodriguez started Rockdale’s soccer program in 2017. This year the Tigers made postseason play and had an 18-win season.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

REGIONAL QUALIFIERS— Rockdale Tiger Jesus Bocanegra (L) qualified for the regional meet last week with a personal best time and second-place finish in the 3200M run. He also qualified in the 1600M run.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

Congratulations to the following Milano track athletes who have qualified for the regional track meet in Kingsville this week: • Robert Miller, discus. • Melanee Moccia, 300 hurdles. • Kadance Koenig, 800M and 1600M runs. • Wyatt Koenig, 1600M and 3200M runs.

THORNDALE TRACK

The Thorndale track teams competed in the area track meet held in Thrall last week and the boys’ team left as the area champions. Individual results were: • Braden Pickel, third in discus. • Kaleb Yount, second in shot-put.

THORNDALE TENNIS

CONSOLATION CHAMPS— Thorndale Bulldog tennis competed in Killeen last week and the doubles team of Garrett and Ethan Schramm won the consolation bracket championship.

ROCKDALE TENNIS

DOUBLES CHAMPS— Rockdale Tiger varsity tennis players Mason Lillard and Brody Willard took home first-place honors in boys doubles last week in the Thrall Tournament.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Lady Eagles are 7-5 and in second place in district. They split their games last week, losing against a 6-5 Thrall team and then winning 15-0 against a winless Chilton.
