Tigers in playoffs for first time since 2015

The Rockdale Tigers are heading into the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Rockdale swept their two-game series against rival Cameron Yoe High School last week, winning on the road 5-4 before win-ning at home on Senior Night, 7-6.

ACADEMIC ALL-STATE— Thorndale Bulldogs Kaden Kovar (L) and Bryce Dickerson (R) were recently named to Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ Academic All-State Team.

THORNDALE TENNIS

The Thorndale Bulldog tennis team recently competed in the district tournament. The mixed doubles team of Landin and Hestin Ellington placed first, Kaleb and Jess ica Yount came in third. Garrett Schramm placed second, Bryce Dickerson In boys’ doubles, Ethan and and Aiden McRae placed fourth.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Rockdale Tigers split games with the Rogers Eagles last week. Big Blue won at home on Tuesday night, 3-0. The Tigers’ bats came to life with two outs in the second inning and all three of their runs were scored in this two-out rally.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

Rockdale Tiger Jesus Bocanegra competed last week in the regional track meet held at Waco’s Midway High School but failed to finish high enough to move on to state. He qualifi ed in both the 1600M and the 3200M. Lady Tiger T’Niyah Miles competed in the shot put at the same meet and finished ninth.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

The Thorndale Bulldogs and Lady Dogs had a great week last week in Kingsville at the regional track meet. The Bulldogs finished second overall as a team. Legon, seventh in pole vaulting.
