Water summit Aug. 15 in Caldwell

CALDWELL—The annual Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 15) at the Caldwell Civic Center. The Summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided.

Jim and Mary Lee of Houston spent the weekend with us. They came especially at this time to attend the Holdiness family reunion in Milano at the home of Sandra and Edward Dworaczyk on Saturday and the Milano Civic Center on Sunday. If you have items for the raffle on Founders Day, Saturday, Sept.

Splash!

The Community Summer Splash, co-sposored by the City of Rockdale and the Rockdale ISD Parent-Teacher Organization (P-TO) drew a large crowd of children and parents. The event featured bounce houses, a water slide (right), concessions and, of course, swimming on a 100-degree day.

Well, hello 2018-19 school term

Lots of students and parents are looking forward to the start of the 2018-19 school term. For one group it’s already started. The Rockdale High School Big Blue Band, under the direction of Adrian Acevedo, is well into pre-season marching practice.
