Run Florist Run has been chosen as the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month for March. Run by mother-daughter duo Jennifer Juhl (right) and Kate Hendrick, the store was created as a one stop shop for florals, gifts and merchandise.

Countywide burn ban back in effect

Milam County Commissioners reinstated a burn ban on Saturday, March 21, because they found that the circumstances are present in all unincorporated areas of Milam County to create a public safety hazard by outdoor burning.

Downtown beautification project brings volunteers

When TxDOT finished the work downtown on Cameron Avenue, they added 18 planters along with benches and trash cans. The planters were planted with plants but without any plan for care of them. Naturally, the plants died and have since been used as trash cans by the public.

Accidents • Sgt. Lent responded to 1300 West Cameron Avenue for a vehicle which hit a gas pump with no injuries on March 12 at 6:16 p.m. • Sgt. Bielamowicz responded to East Cameron Avenue near US 77 for a one vehicle accident crashing into a sign/median on March 13 at 8:02 p.m.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • West US 79 near FM 1796 for a one vehicle rollover with injuries on March 11 at 7:22 a.m. • US 79 near CR 306 for a one vehicle accident with unknown injuries on March 11 at 8:36 a.m.
