Milam County 4-H members excel at HLSR

Milam County 4-H members showcased their knowledge, preparation and determination as they competed in multiple contests at the prestigious Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
PRESENTATION—Texas House Rep. Stan Gerdes gave Trail Life Troop TX-1516 a Texas flag that was flown over the Texas Capital in honor of the troop. Included was a certificate that read in part, this flag “was flown at the Capital of the Sovereign State of Texas in recognition of your organization providing youth mentorship and character development.” Our local Rockdale Trail Life Troop is proud to have received this flag. We are very thankful to Rep. Gerdes for honoring us in this way,” said Pastor Steve Ammo

Rockdale added 80 to 100 people to what is being called “the largest single-day demonstration in U.S. history,” which saw protests with more than 8.3 million people in all 50 states across 3,300 events.

Easter Egg Hunt Friday at Fair Park The Rockdale PTO’s annual Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Friday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 12-noon at Fair Park. The egg hunt starts at 10 a.m. sharp and is for toddlers through fifth grade.

RISD school board and Rockdale city council races are set for voting on Thursday, May 2. For the city council race there will be different ballots for eastside and westside residents.
