Rockdale Ministerial Alliance will be holding Holy Week lunches on Monday through Wednesday of Holy Week, March 30, 31 and April 1. The lunches will begin at noon and should be finished by 1 p.m. each day and will be held in the fellowship hall of Peace Lutheran Church.

Small Town Big Book Festival a big success

The first annual Small Town Big Book Festival in Cameron was a big hit on Saturday with authors coming from as far away as Michigan and Missouri which filled all of the hotel rooms and Airbnbs in the area.

The Rockdale PTO's annual Community Ester Egg Hunt will be held on Friday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at Fair Park. The egg hunt starts at 10 a.m. sharp and is for toddlers through fifth grade.

Saturday's Rockdale Community Market featured a car show with six entrants which was won by Harry Ormsby with his 1934 Ford five-window coupe. The market also included the always popular Pupusa Ladies, plants, fresh meat, eggs and just about anything else you can imagine.

First Baptist hosting Soup-er Prayer Sunday First Baptist Church will hold its Soup-er Prayer Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. March 15. Chicken noodle soup and crackers will be served in the parking lot and attendees will pray for anyone that needs it.
