Storytime

Storytime at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library happens every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pre-K and up are welcomed. Volunteers and staff read to the kids, and there are other activities as well.

SLR to implode Units 4, 5

EXPLOSIONS COMING SOON— Sandow Steam Electric Station Units 4 and 5 will be demolished in a series of carefully controlled implosions over the next few months. The first will probably occur within the next three weeks according to sources at SLR.

Substitute teachers training to be held September 7th

Mandatory training for all new RISD substitute teachers will be held Thursday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12-noon at the Rockdale ISD Conference Center at 1205 Murray Ave. This training will include processes for the automated substitute service system Rockdale ISD has implemented.

Murray Cemetery meeting Sept. 16th

Murray Cemetery Association will hold their annual business meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Lee’s Landing. The public is invited to attend.

Police arrest three on felony warrants over past week

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Troy Deon Thomas, 38, Bryan, was arrested on Wednesday for DWI third or more and terroristic threat of peace officer/judge.
