Aquifer Conservancy Program increases bonus

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District (POSGCD) announced that the enrollment incentive for the Aquifer Conservancy Program (ACP) has increased to $25 per acre from the previous $10 per acre.

Rockdale Youth Soccer registering now for fall

Registration is under way for Rockdale Youth Soccer for boys and girls ages 4 to 13. The last day to register is Saturday, Aug. 26. Fees are $65 per player and $50 for a second or more from the same family/ household. Season dates are Sept. 30 through Nov. 11.

Rockdale MDD to host open house about Rockdale’s future

The Rockdale Municipal Development District (RMDD) will host a Rockdale Mid-Century Plan Community Open House at Patterson Civic Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29. A process is already under way to update Rockdale’s comprehensive plan which will take our city into the year 2050.

On Friday, Braden Wallis opened his new barbeque spot, 7 Bar Barbecue at 2006 W. Cameron Ave., and had an awesome sold-out weekend on Friday and Saturday. Open from 11 a.m. until sold out on Fridays and Saturdays, Wallis sold out on Friday at 1:22 p.m.

School now in session, slow down, pay attention

School is now in session and we all need to remember to slow down around the school and pay attention to the school buses. We have students that enter and exit the bus on Hwy. 36 and Hwy. 79, as well as our county roads. Stay off your phone and slow down! We need rain and a cold front. Keep praying!
