Groundwater Summit to be held August 17th

CALDWELL—The annual Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Caldwell Civic Center. The summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided.

Rockdale MDD to host open house about Rockdale’s future

The Rockdale Municipal Development District (RMDD) will host a Rockdale Mid-Century Plan Community Open House at Patterson Civic Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29. A process is already under way to update Rockdale’s comprehensive plan which will take our city into the year 2050.

I am a true heat lover when it comes to the weather, but even for me these past few weeks have been almost too much. That said, I will take 100 degrees over cold weather any day. Here are some recipes that require no oven or stove to make, and as an added bonus, this first one is served chilled.
