Rockdale ISD seeks input

Rockdale ISD has the following openings on the Campus Education Councils, according to an announcement by Kathy Pelzel: • A parent representative, a community representative and a business representative at Rockdale Elementary School.

MINI CHEER CAMP

About 70 future RHS cheerleaders took part in a Mini Cheer Camp on Thursday and were taught by the varsity and JV cheerleaders. Parents, grandparents and friends will get to see them perform at the homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 6, during the first quarter.

Milano garage sale fundraiser

The Milano Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary will hold their annual garage sale fundraiser Oct. 5-7 at the Milano Fire Station at 305 East Avenue C. Hours of operation are Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations are still being accepted.

MILAM COUNTY JAIL LOG

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Two individuals arrested on felony warrants this week

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past week including: • Neils Beery, 68, Rockdale, arrested for prohibited weapon.

FIRE CALLS

Responded to: • US 77 at South FM 908 near the airport for a two-vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Friday. • 123 Cordova for an electric range making popping noises on Sunday. Thorndale VFD Responded to: • 403 CR 463 along with Rockdale VFD for a hay field on fire with spreading on Friday.
