The O.D. Butler Forage Field Day will be held on May 15 at the Thomas Ranch located at 10365 Summer Lane, Anderson. This field day will offer 3 CEUs for pesticide applicators.

Underground fuel tank slows sidewalk project

In January, TxDOT contractor Garret Shields Construction began a sidewalk replacement project on Main Street in Downtown Rockdale.

St. Joseph’s hosts Mayfest on May 3

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is holding their Mayfest fundraiser for the first time since 2020 on Sunday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the KC Hall. Lunch begins at 11 a.m. and goes to 2 p.m. or until sold out.

• Ofc. Meadows responded to the 1400 block of Pecos Avenue for a two-vehicle accident on April 15 at 3:03 p.m. • Ofc. Jacobs responded to North Travis Street and West Cameron Avenue for a two-vehicle accident with injuries on April 20 at 5:18 p.m.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 500 Childress for a fire alarm at 3:57 p.m. April 15. • 2700 South US 77 for a vehicle fire at 4:18 p.m. April 16. • Near the intersection of FM 908 and US 77 for a large fire (controlled burn) at 10:25 a.m. April 17. • 1404 O'Kelley for a fire alarm at 9:32 a.m.
