MARC Earth Day

Through a generous donation by Mona Butala and several anonymous donations, each consumer of the MARC Center was given an Earth Day t-shirt and they wore them to fix up their gardens on as their Earth Day project. Gardens were cleaned and then replanted with flowers and vegetables.

Rockdale ISD students continue their earning Industry-Based Certifications

Rockdale ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) department offers Industry-Based Certification (IBC) testing on a continuous basis throughout the school year. Depending on the program of study in which the student may be taking the exam, that testing could be in the fall or spring semester.

MILAM COUNTY JAIL LOG

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. • Donzel Laquan Young, 29, Cameron, robbery, released on $25,000 bond.

THE MARC GARDENS

THE MARC GARDENS—Clients and volunteers at the MARC Center got their gardens all spruced up on Friday as their Earth Day project by cleaning out the gardens and replanting them.

Senior Center seeking volunteers, donations The Rockdale Senior Center is in need of volunteers on Mondays to deliver Meals on Wheels twice per month. They are also asking for donations for their Angel Tree and seeking people to adopt a senior or buy items from their wish list.

This Monday morning we are getting the April showers for having May flowers. Hoping this little jingle really works. For sure, April showers mean more lawn mowing. No Gause school news to report. Everyone is getting ready for summer vacations.

Earth Day fun

About 100 high school and junior high students participated in Rockdale Earth Day’s Day of Service on Friday. The Rockdale Rotary Club provided breakfast tacos for everyone involved and the kids lined up for breakfast, safety vests and gloves provided by Rockdale Earth Day.
