New RHS welding lab will help students, community

While the finishing touches are still being made, the brand new welding booths at Rockdale High School’s multipurpose CTE shop and lab are assembled and ready for work. The facility now includes 12 booths and included an electrical upgrade to run the new equipment.

Business of the month

Manuel’s Imports is the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce’s March Business of the Month. Sylvia and Manuel Ramos are the owners of Manuel’s Imports which is at 1408 W. Cameron Ave in Rockdale and has been at that location since 2004. The business features signs, decor and metal art for homes and gardens.

Thorndale OKs stop signs at intersection The Thorndale City Council met March 10 in City Hall and voted to place stop signs one facing east and the other west at the intersection of Clements and Johnson streets.

Junior livestock show baked goods to be sold not auctioned

The Milam County Junior Livestock Show Baked Goods division will look a little different this year. FFA and 4-H members will be baking cookies, pies and cakes to be judged Saturday. They will be interviewing for the chance to win showmanship awards.

Officers clear up accident at Murray, Meadow intersection

A two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Murray and Meadow interfered with the flow of traffic Wednesday evening until officers could get the wreckage cleared. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, but no injuries were reported in the accident that happened at 7:46 p.m.
