FIRST SANTA LETTER—Deon Williams wins the award for the first Letter to Santa for 2021. The Reporter Gang hopes Santa brings him everything on his list. Our annual Letters to Santa publication will be in our Christmas edition on December 23 with letters from pre-K, kindergardeners, first graders and second graders. Santa’s special elf, Pat Voyles, will be collecting the letters for our special section.
For the first time in a long time the City of Rockdale will end the year in the black. In closing out the 2020-2021 budget the city will have $150,847 in the general fund and $68,776 in the enterprise fund.
At Monday’s County Commissioners Court two residents with concerns about speeding gravel trucks on CR 204B near Buckholts made their cases that something needed to be done because there are children and older people who could be seriously injured.
