have a question: Who thought up the idea of the “golden years”? There is nothing “golden” about all the aches, pains, doctor appointments, etc. I I’m guessing I should have taken better care of myself a long time ago. But I’m not complaining. I can get up, move around and do what I want to do.

Milano VFD chili supper set for February 20th Milano Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual chili supper on Saturday, Feb. 20, starting at 4:30 p.m. Dinners include chili, beans and all the fixings including tea and dessert. There will also be an online auction and a gun drawing.

Vaccination clinic moved to Rockdale

The Milam County COVID-19 vaccination clinic scheduled for Thursday has been moved from Cameron to Rockdale. If you are scheduled to get a second round shot Thursday, go to the former Rockdale Medical Clinic located at 1700 Brazos in Rockdale for the vaccination.

COVID-19 infections at all-time high

Milam County active infections set an all time high Tuesday at 171. This is four more than the prior record of 167 set back in late December 2020.  "Clearly, we have a lot of the COVID-19 virus in Milam County," County Judge Steve Young said in his daily email.

Businesses may go back to 75 percent occupancy rate; bars can reopen
