Erica Starnes and family from Virginia visited with the Coats and Starnes families last week. They returned home the first of the week. Bo Forson celebrated his 70th birthday on July 11. His sisters, Georgia Selia and Celia McGenity came and helped him celebrate.

SECOND COVID-19 DEATH IN MILAM

Milam County has recorded its second death from COVID-19. County Judge Steve Young said an elderly man died Friday in a Temple hospital from pneumonia attributed to the COVID-19 virus,  Young said a 3-year-old Milam County girl is also a COVID patient in a Temple hospital.

CITY PLEA: "CONSERVE WATER"

  From the City of Rockdale: "Rockdale is currently experiencing very high water consumption and is nearing Stage 1 of our Drought Contingency Plan (See pg 19 of Water Conservation Plan Link).

TOTAL 175 AS ACTIVE CASES SHOW DECLINE

  Milam County Judge Steve Young said early Monday morning the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Milam County increased by 18 over the weekend, going from 157 to 175.   At the same time, he noted the number of active cases declined to 50. At the last report on Friday there were 57 active cases.

149 TOTAL: 12 NEW CASES; 53 ACTIVE

From County Judge Steve Young:   We went from 137  to 149 Thursday.  So an increase of 12 confirmed COVID-19 cases.   149 confirmed cases 53 active cases 108 individuals currently being monitored 394 cumulative monitored 6 hospitalized – 1 on a ventilator and another in ICU 1 death

COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE CLOSING DUE TO VIRUS

  Milam County Judge Steve Young has announced the county clerk's office in Cameron will close at 12-noon today (July 9) due to increasing cases of COVID-19.   "We will go forward with our county court docket tomorrow (Friday) as scheduled," he said.
