GALYESTON—Nen Esten Cooke, co-publisher of The Roc k d a l e Reporter, was elected treasurer of the Texas Press Association, beginning an officer rotation in which he should eventually assume the president’s position.

CAMERON—Twenty-five persons were indicted on 3 cases Thursday by a Milam County Grand Jury, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey who listed case dispositions as follows: • S hannon Edward Varner, 37, Cameron, aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

ROCKDALE CHRISTIAN SERVICES

RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open 10 a.m. until noon weekdays. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome, especially one-pound bags of rice, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, canned soups and peanut butter.

Young artists

Rockdale High School art students, Chloe Rundell (L) and Andrea Ruiz recently had entries accepted into the Central Texas Art Competition. The competition was held in the Visual Communications Department and Gallery on the campus of Temple College.
