Fire calls for the Rock-dale VFD over the past week included: • 8:43 p.m. Jan. 8, report of “something burning” west of Rockdale, turned out to be controlled burn. • 12:56 p.m. Friday, grass fire between FM 486 and FM 908, was an unreported controlled burn. • 8:59 p.m.

Sentencing Thursday for ‘corpse tampering’

CAMERON—A Caldwell man accused of helping to dispose of the body in the Emily Hacker murder case is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday in 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey. Kevin Cormier was never charged with the murder of the 34-year-old Rockdale resident on Jan.

CAMERON—A pre-trial hearing for a Rockdale resident accused of squeezing a 20-month-old infant, scheduled for Friday in 20th District Court, has been delayed.
