Lifeline Screening set

Lifeline Screening will be at the Patterson Center on Jan. 16 to offer Rockdale residents a variety of health screening services. Screenings can assess risks for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and other chronic illnesses.

‘Hog havoc’ early Saturday on 1712

City crews fixing a water line leak, like this one Monday on Green Street near Hamilton, have become a familiar sight in Rockdale in recent years. It’s estimated between 30 and 40 percent of the city’s water is lost due to leaks.

ORGANIZATIONS

Master Naturalists set training class El Camino Real Master naturalists will host training beginning Jan. 16 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Hermit Haus in Cameron on Thursday evenings. The class is a joint effort of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension program.

Pancake supper set for Jan. 18

MILANO NEWS The annual Milano Evening Lions Club pancake supper is set for Jan. 18 at the Milano Civic Center. Meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and there will be live music, a silent auction and a raffle. Price is $3 for those under 13 and $5 for everyone else.
