—The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department was called to the US 79-FM 1786 intersection (Alcoa turnoff) at 11:10 a.m. Thursday for a report that a truck rig carrying an oversized load had malfunctioned, jackknifed and lost part of its load.

SHERIFF’S REPORT An attempted traffic stop by the Milam Sheriff’s Department south of Cameron Sunday ended with a chase to Hearne and a crash.

More file in GOP primary for March 3, 2020, ballot

Two more persons filed during the past week for the March 3, 2020, Milam County Republican Primary. Both filed for constable positions. Incumbent Precinct 2 Constable West signed up for another term and James Pratt filed for the Precinct 1 position now held by John Anderle.

Six sentenced in district court

CAMERON—Six persons were sentenced last week in 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey, who listed case dispositions as follows: • Randall Allen Coleman, 61, Milano, was sentenced to 10-year prison term after pleading guilty to attempted aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

RISD board in hearing, meeting Wednesday

Rockdale ISD trustees were to have held a public hearing and their regular monthly meeting starting at 5:30 p.m; Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Central Administration Building. The public hearing is to accept comment on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).

Santa to visit Liberty Community Church Liberty Community Church near Milano will have a visit from Santa on Sat., Nov. 30 from 3-6 p.m. Pictures with Santa will be available for a $5 donation. Proceeds will benefit Milano Senior Citizens.
