During a morning hearing on March 31 at the Milam County Courthouse in Cameron, County Judge Steve Young issued a temporary injunction that will keep the owner and the hearing defendant, Ira Richard Thrasher Jr., out of a downtown Rockdale building until further court action.
The Rockdale Farmers’ Market sprouted last Saturday around the historic Chamber building off US 79 with 10 vendors offering jams, jellies, honey, salsa, chow-chow, needle and crochet work, meats, eggs and other things for sale. The Chamber is expecting more vendors as the market progresses through its run to the end of October. The Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
There has been another COVID-19 death in Milam County, Judge Steve Young reported in an email this week. The fatality was an older male with no comorbidity, the report said. The countywide COVID-19 death toll is now at 46.
