Veterans Day ceremony ahead at RHS

The annual Veterans Day tribute at Rockdale High School, a highlight for veterans, students and the community, is set for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 in the high school gym. Supt. Dr. Denise Monzingo said the community and-surrounding areas, are invited to attend.

Thanksgiving service now in planning phase Event planners for Rock-dale’s 19th annual Community Outreach Thanksgiving Luncheon are seeking participation from the public. The event, which serves hundreds of Thanksgiving meals, is set for Nov. 23 in the First Baptist Church fellowship hall.

Two short chases for police in week

POLICE REPORT There were two pursuits for Rockdale police during the past week but neither one will turn up on any chase highlights show. One only went a few blocks and the other never left a parking lot.

The Rockdale High School Big Blue Band competed in the UIL Area D marching contest at Belton High School on Saturday. “We had a great performance and missed advancing to the area finals by two places, separated by one point, Director Adrian Acevedo said.

The Crown Garden Club met for the October meeting at the home of Larry Kocian in Country Club Estates to tour his gardens.

Surviving the holidays seminar set for Nov. 7th GriefShare coordinator Malda Burns is offering a seminar on surviving the holidays after a loved one’s death on Nov. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Registration fee is $5. Child care will not be available.

One-act play set for Nov. 13

MILANO NEWS Milano High School’s One-Act Play class will put on their fall production on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. The group will perform “The Video Gamapalooza,” a comedy by Don Zolidis. The play will take place in the high school cafetorium.
