TURKEY SHOOT

—Left, twenty-two people participated in last Saturday’s Rockdale American Legion Carlyle Post 358 Turkey-Shoot. The fundraiser included a prize drawing for a Mossberg Maverick 88 shotgun awarded to Trey Stanislaw.

New Girl Scout troops forming

Girl Scout leaders are hosting a membership pizza party for girls in grades K-12 who join the new Milam County Girl Scout Troop. “Join us Sept. 23, 6-7 p.m. at Mr. Gatti’s to learn more about Milam County Girl Scouts K-12th grade,” said Rachel Owens and Tricia Weber, Girl Scout organizers.

FOOD BANK

—Over 100 people received food last Thursday at the Central Texas Food Bank distribution at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The food bank distributes food every third Thursday of the month and fresh produce every first Thursday of the month.
