Ms. Shelander Nevaeh Louise Shelander, 8 years old, was called home surrounded by family at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin on Dec. 12, 2023, at 5:43 p.m. Better known to those closest to her as “Nene,” she was born on Aug. 26, 2015, to biological parents, Janice and Kory Shelander.

Mr. Lawrence Royce Lee “Bo” Lawrence, 77, of Taylor passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Ascension Seton in Round Rock. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Max Naranjo, 85, of Thorndale passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023. Max Naranjo was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Donna to Luis and Feliciana Naranjo. A lifelong farmer, he spent his days growing the food that fed his local community.

On Dec. 6, 2023, Barbara Ann (Stolte) Smith, loving sister and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 85.
