James Clayton Woolverton, 78 of Rockdale passed away on Nov. 30, 2023, in a Cameron nursing home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor David Hankins officiating. Interment was at Sand Grove Cemetery in Milano.

Our beloved mother, Lavon “Bonnie” Maxine (McKnight) James, longtime resident of San Antonio, from hometown Milano, passed on to be with her Lord and entered into eternal rest on Nov. 30, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born on July 13, 1940, in Rockdale.

Donovan Russell Cumbie was born in Athens on Feb. 12, 1946 to Grady Lee Cumbie and Dorothey Louise Cliver Cumbie. Don graduated from Rockdale High School in Ma y o f 1964 where he was president Col. Cumbie of the student body and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Joe William Criner, 65, of Lyons passed away at his home on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. Joe was born in Houston on Oct. 28, 1958, and was raised in Milano. He was the son of Evelyn Loui se Cotten Criner Smith and Roy Howard Criner. Joe was the fourth child of six and the youngest son.
