Tigers begin two-a-days with 65 reporting

The Rockdale Tigers started practice on Monday for the 2025 season with 65 athletes reporting on the first day. The Tigers have made some focus points going into the first week of practice to prepare for the upcoming season.

I’m going out on a limb and sharing my true feelings af ter I was pressed by Reporter stud Shannon Whorton about the Tigers’ blue helmets for 2026. I’m not a fan of the change but then I noticed in 1974 we had blue helmets so maybe blue is not so bad?

Rockdale, Thorndale, Milano release fall practice schedules

The Rockdale Tigers have a football parent meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in the RHS auditorium. Equipment will be issued the same day and at the same time at the field house. Monday will be the first day of practice for the high school from 6 to 9:30 a.m.

The Rockdale Country Club held its annual Rockgusta Golf Tournament recently. There were 61 teams participating in this year’s twoman scramble. Championship Flight (27 holes) First—Tucker Tovar and Jakob Mikel, 91. Second—Frankie Chanderlis and Everette Nini, 92.

Idon’t know if you saw the news but the UIL just stripped Austin LBJ of it’s 2024 District 13-4A D1 District Championship and vacated it’s 11 win season due to the use of ineligible players.

Milano releases practice times Milano Eagle sports are about to launch for the 2025-26 school year. Football players need to show up at 7 a.m. Aug. 4 at the fieldhouse for practice from 8 to 11 a.m. Volleyball players report to the high school gym, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 1.
