ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Rockdale Tigers baseball team lost to the Pflugerville Connally Cougars on the road in their lone game last week. The final was 3-2. Mason Lillard got the start for Big Blue. He gave up four hits and one run in three innings of work. Lillard struck out seven and walked one.

Preusse sets two Thorndale school records at Texas Relays

Thorndale Lady Dog Bethany Preusse took part last week in the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. Competing against Texas high school girls in all UIL divisions, Preusse crushed her own shot put school record—by four feet—with a 44-4.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team got a big win over Bremond last week, 14-4. Karis Ginn and Aiyanna Stevenson each had two out-of-the-park home runs. Raven Sandoval added to that an in-the-park home run off of an error.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Eagles baseball squad dropped both of its games last week, playing Iola twice, losing 4-2 and 11-3. Milano is winless in district games.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS

Rockdale Tigers tennis team played in the Thrall Invitational Tennis Tournament last week. The boys’ doubles team of Brody Willard and Mason Lillard placed second. Mixed doubles team of Emily Zientek and Jonathan Fuller finished in third.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

Thorndale Lady Dogs Raven Sandoval, Skilee Bear and Nadia Gonzalez (at left) are advancing to area competition in the 3200 m run. Sandoval was district champion, Bear placed second and Gonzalez was third. Area competition will be April 10 in Flatonia.

The Rockdale Tiger boys track team participated in the Lexington Eagle Relays last week with these individual student athletes showing off the blue and gold: Varsity • The 4x400 relay team of Montelongo, Stephens, Henderson and Gerren placed first.

Congratulations to the Rockdale Tiger track team for placing second in the Happy Skrabanek Relays in Caldwell last week. De’Andre Stephens placed first in the 200m, long jump, triple jump and the high jump. The 4x400 team of Montelongo, Stephens, Henderson and Gerren finished first.
