THORNDALE POWERLIFTING

The Lady Dogs of Thorndale went to Rosebud-Lott to compete in a powerlifting competition and came home with a third-place team finish. Lady Dog Jordyn Stutts (R) got the girl’s Best Lifter award at the recent Rosebud- Lott powerlifting meet.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Tigers basketball team, who are now 4-2 in district play, split games last week. They beat rival Cameron in a big way, 80-28, before losing on an off night against Lexington, 68-51.

The Rockdale Lady Tigers softball team has a road game scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday against Rosebud-Lott. On Tuesday, they host a scr immage against Bryan High School at 5 p.m., before hosting a scrimmage against Brazos Valley at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Rockdale Lady Tigers basketball team is now 1-5 in district play after losing both of their games last week. Early in the week Rockdale lost a game against Thrall, 32-23, before they dropped their game against Rogers, 46-39.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Milano Lady Eagles basketball team are 2-4 in district play after losing last week to Rosebud-Lott in a very close game, 29-26. UP NEXT— Milano was set to host McDade Tuesday (after The Reporter deadline) before playing in Thorndale at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Rockdale Tigers hosted the Rockdale Soccer Tournament last week and came away with a second place finish. Congratulations Tigers! Rockdale finished 3-1 beating Hearne 4-0, Florence 3-1 and Academy 3-0 before tying Lago Vista in the championship game 1-1.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Thorndale Lady Dogs basketball squad is a one-loss team after they played Granger last week. Thorndale lost the game 48-12. The Lady Dogs were resilient and came back to beat Holland late in the week 37-14. Thorndale is now 5-1 in district play.

ROCKDALE JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL

The seventh grade basketball A team recently competed in the Giddings Tournament and finished in third place. These youngsters lost to Giddings, 47-28, before winning against Brenham, 42-12. Key players for the Tigers were Canaan Miles with 16 points and Zayden Rodriguez with 14 points.

ROCKDALE POWERLIFTING

Rockdale High School powerlifters competed last week in the Giddings Powerlifting Meet and came home with lots of hardware. Former Lady Tiger and current Coach Morgan Laughlin shared, “We had 14 student athletes compete.
