The Thorndale Bulldogs baseball team dropped both games of a double header against Wimberley last week. The first game was 6-0 and the second game was 9-8 after extra innings.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Eagles baseball team (R) went 2-0 last week after defeating Round Top Carmine. Milano defeated the Cubs at home 12-2 and then on the road 12-0. The Eagles are now 7-5-1 over all and 0-2 in district. THIS WEEK— Next up are back-toback games against Iola (9-3, 3-1).

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The struggling Rockdale Lady Tigers softball team lost to Lexington at home Friday night, 10-0. COMING UP— Rockdale is currently 0-3 in district play and will not play again until Tuesday, April 1 at home against Little River- Academy. Game time is 6 p.m.

Special Olympics Unified Sports

Rockdale had a special group of student athletes compete in the HOT Area 12 Basketball competition at Waco recently. The team will compete in the Track & Field Special Olympics event in Leander on April 5.

The hard-charging Rockdale Lady Tiger soccer team competed in their first playoff g ame F riday i n H earne against the number one seed Lorena Lady Leopards. Tiger pride was evident as these student-athletes fought hard to stay in the game but came out short losing 3-0.

Record breaker

Milano Eagle Andres Ruelas (L) placed fifth in the 198 weight class at the recent state powerlifting competition held in Abilene. Ruelas received the Outstanding Squatter award on the Heavy Platform in Division IV, while breaking the state record with a 685 lift.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING

Congratulations to Thorndale Bulldogs Deven Cuba and Marcus Shaw, who competed in the state powerlifting meet. Cuba is the state runner up in the 275 weight class—squatting 690, benching 475, and dead lifting 615 for a total of 1,780.

ROCKDALE GOLF

FIRST— Congratu lations to Rockdale Tiger golfer Mason Lillard who took f irst place at the Belton Invitational Golf Tournament place by shooting a 76.

THORNDALE GOLF

The Thorndale Lady Dog golfers played in the Rosebud-Lott Golf Tournament held last week at the Sammons Golf Course in Temple. Lady Dog Marisol Schaller was first place medalist, carding a 91. Other golfers on the team are Madison Espinoza, Karsyn Bland, Hestin Ellington and Rhynn Bigan.
