THORNDALE TENNIS

Thorndale tennis team members Ladin and Hestin Ellington came in third place at the Caldwell Tournament in mixed doubles last week.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Tigers finished off their season last Tuesday night at home against Academy. The final score was Academy 57, Rockdale 45. Tiger Ace Taylor had 19 points in this game. Big Blue only had two district wins.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs are the district champs despite a heart-breaking loss to rival Thrall Tigers. The final score of their regular season finale against Thrall was 59-43. The Bulldogs finished an impressive 11-1 in district and 28-4 overall.

2024 Rockdale Tigers football schedule

The new 2024 Rockdale Tiger football schedule was recently released, as follows: August 16 – Rogers here (scrimmage) August 23 – at Salado (scrimmage) August 30 – Smithville here September 6 – at Hempstead September 13 – Lexington here September 20 – at Giddings September 27 – Groesbeck here...

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Tigers suffered two more losses last week. They are now 2-10 in district play and 5-26 overall. Big Blue took on the Rogers Eagles in a road game and came up short 68-52, before losing to rival Cameron 49-46.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Tiger soccer team split their games last week. GIDDINGS— Giddings came to town last Tuesday and the game finished in a tie but the Blue and Gold won in the penalty shoot out, 4-3. The goal scored in this game was by Jose Tenorio with an assist by Wilmer Sorto.

SIGNING DAY

Tiger standout athletes Riley Spears (football, above), Blaydn Barcak (football, at right) and Jesus Bocanegra (cross country, below) all signed letters of intent last Wednesday in Tiger Gym to continue their athletic and academic careers at nearby University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Thorndale basketball team continued its win streak last week. The Bulldogs put two W's in the win column beating Hearne 59-27 and Milano 54-24. HEARNE— Aga inst Hearne, Kaden Kovar put up 23 points, Kale Meadors had 13 and Jayden Clawson contributed 11 points.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Milano Eagles basketball team is gaining ground towards the end of what has been a disappointing season. The Eagles traveled to Thrall to take on the third place Tigers last week and lost 70-47, before they traveled to Thorndale to take on the undefeated, first-place Bulldogs and lost 54-25.
