The Rockdale Lady Tigers were rewarded for their hard work both on and off the court last week. Making the Academic All-District Team were Regina Hamilton, Trinity Hurd, Jazalle Dunn, Ciara Miles, Grace Patton, Jerneé Mitchell, Tanisha McBride, Alli Lay and T’Niyah Miles.

The Tiger track teams traveled to Ganado for their first meet of the year. BOYS— Varsit y high jumper De’Andre Stephens came in first place. Carson Eoff brought home a thi rd place finish in high jumping and Jesus Bocanegra placed third in the 1600 and the 3200.

This Rockdale Tiger Train is still rolling down the track and winning ball games. Big Blue was busy last week taking on Hempstead at home on Monday and winning 10-0. Later in the week the Tigers played in the Rosebud-Lott Tournament and came out with a 3-0-1 record in the tournament.

The Rockdale Lady Tiger soccer team tied the Taylor Ducks 1-1 last week in regulation and then lost on penalty kicks. These young women are much better than their record and this is still a very young program that is getting established under a veteran coach.

The Rockdale Tigers baseball team may be the team to beat this season. The Tiger Train rolled all over a Hempstead team earlier this week in a home game. The final score was 10-0. JV— The Rockdale JV also rolled to a victory over Hempstead, 8-0.

MILANO BASEBALL

The Milano Eagles will be hitting the diamond soon in what Head Baseball Coach Connor Marshall calls a “high expectation” season. “We have most of our players returning from last year and some new guys that will end up playing big roles,” he said.
