It’s almost Fair time!
The 48th annual Rockdale Fair & Rodeo will be held Oct. 14-21, featuring professional rodeo and top country music acts to dance the nights away at Rockdale Fair Park.
Tickets are $30 for a threeday adult pass, $20 for children and seniors.
The city council approved the conditions for issuing the public improvement bonds that are funding some of the public improvement within the Cornerstone Subdivision at a special called meeting.
Recently, the Rockdale City Council approved the city’s second Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, or TIRZ. What is this, other than being a funny-sounding name? Some folks see them as scary public finance monsters, but generally, they are helpful community development tools.
Rockdale Christian Services wishes to thank The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the community for donating over 1,250 pounds of food to the RCS food pantry, enough to fill two pickup trucks and an SUV.
Sheriff Mike Clore and the Milam County Sheriff’s Office is kicked off their 14th annual Brown Santa program last week and the organization is taking applications for citizens in the county who may benefit from the program. Brown Santa is for children ages two to 12 only.
The Milam County Genealogical Society will hold their October meeting at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
