Rockdale police made three arrests during the past week as follows:
• Darnell Benson Jr., 26, Rockdale, motion to proceed-possession of controlled substance (4 to 400 grams), bond surrender-terroristic threat, in custody on $13,000 bond.

VFD DONATIONS—Valero Pipeline Company recently presented a total of $75,000 to Milam County’s volunteer fire departments. Gause, Milano, Rockdale, Thorndale, Minerva, and Buckholts each received $10,000 and Cameron was awarded $15,000.

JUDGE’S COMMENTS
Hemp may become a big cash crop in Milam County.
Hemp was legalized by the Texas Legislature in the 2019 session and the governor recently signed the bill into law.
Thus, effective Jan. 1, 2020, hemp can legally be grown in Texas, with economic potential.

Awards highlighted the Rockdale Rotary Club’s annual fun night and installation banquet Tuesday, June 25 at Rockdale Country Club.
Rotarian of the Year award went to Michelle Morgan, club secretary who also serves as Rotary International assistant district governor.
Cemetery association meet for picnic lunch
A picnic lunch will be served at the annual Liberty Homecoming and Cemetery Association meeting at 11 a.m., Sunday, July 7 at Liberty Church, 4856 FM 3242, Cameron.

You with children entering kindergarten through fourth grade for the 2019-20 school year, Gause United Methodist Church will have Vacation Bible School on July 20, beginning at 9 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m.
MILANO NEWS
The City of Milano’s Fourth of July parade will take place on Thursday morning. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. from the MISD football field and winding through downtown, finishing up at the civic center with a free hot dog lunch with all of the trimmings.
