SO seizes 13 dogs, arrests owner

A visit by the Milam County Sheriff’s Department to a rural location on the edge of Rockdale resulted in the seizure of 23 dogs and the arrest of their owner. Sheriff Chris White said one dog had already died at the location with the cause of death “determined to be dehydration.

Rockdale residents mostly understand “where the city is coming from” on trying to standardize house numbering, but they would rather try a voluntary system first.

The Milam County Sheriff’s Department now has a new website with tons of information available with a click or two. That includes one of the most asked-for features by Texans, quick information on the locations of registered sex offenders in the county.

Temporary water bill help planned by city To temporarily aid senior citizens with increased water bills, the City of Rock-dale is working with The Area Agency on Aging to provide supplemental financial assistance to qualified seniors, according to Curah Beard, city marketing director.

Vehicle from chase stopped in Rockdale

Rockdale police stopped a vehicle sought by North Milam law officers Monday and arrested its lone occupant, a person authorities don’t believe was in the vehicle when the chase began.

MISD golf tourney set for Saturday at RCC

MILANO NEWS The annual Milano ISD scholarship golf tournament is set for Saturday, June 22. The event has been rescheduled twice due to weather conditions. The event will now be held Saturday, June 22. The event will still take place at the Rock-dale Country Club.
