iTigers group heads toward final six weeks

Spring is in the air, and in less than two weeks, Rockdale ISD will be set to begin our final six weeks of school. We will also begin our STAAR Testing in a few weeks as well, where our campuses hope to excel.

MCJLS sale $206,325...so far!

CAMERON—It’s shaping up to be another banner year for the Milam County Junior Livestock Show which ended Saturday night with the annual auction benefiting Milam FFA and 4-H youth. Preliminary total after Saturday’s sale was $206,325. Added money is being prepared this week.

MARC Run scheduled for April 14

The 17th annual MARC Run, brought to you by The Bad To The Bone Riders of Rockdale, will be held Saturday, April 14, at The Ranch, 415 W. Hwy 79, in Rockdale, according to Charles Starr, spokesman. The annual ride benefi ts the Milam Adult Resource Center here in Rockdale.

Garage sale donations now being accepted

Plum Street, Rockdale’s second busiest (after Main Street) railroad crossing, was closed Thursday as part of a general track maintenance project by Union Pacific Railroad. The project continued this week but the crossing is open. There’s lots of activity going in a couple of blocks downtown.

City candidate forum Thursday

Candidates in the two contested May 5 Rockdale City Council races will face the public Thursday afternoon in a Meet the Candidates Forum at the Patterson Civic Center. The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center is hosting the event which begins at 5:30 p.m.

Holy Week services start Monday

Peace Lutheran Church, 303 Meadow Drive, will host the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance-sponsored Holy Week luncheons during the noon hour Monday through Friday, March 26-30.
