4-H youth camps continue June 29

Milam County 4-H members participated in a 4-H Fun Day Camp Friday, at the Thorndale City Park. Little River Basin Master Gardeners led crafts for the youth, painting milk jugs to use as watering cans, planting bombs with seeds to plant, and many other crafts related to plants and watering.

NEW HOME

NEW HOME—A pair of brick monument signs welcoming motorists to Rockdale have stood at opposite ends of US 79 for four decades. They will still do that, but a different locations. One has been placed in the Rockdale Skate Park (above) on FM 487 just south of the Union-Pacific overpass.

Free kids play this weekend in Cameron

CAMERON—A young and eager cast of actors will stage two performances of “Big Bad,” a play giving a different take on the Big Bad Wolf fairy tale Friday and Saturday evening at the Cameron Junior-High School Cafeteria. The play begins each evening at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission.
