End of term but beginning of fresh start

The passage of time is a major part of all of our lives, and as I was told in my youth, the older you get the faster it (time) goes. In education, we have the challenge of using time in the most beneficial way to prepare our students for their future.

Supporting athletes

This time a year ago we had just completed the installation of the new elementary playground. The new playground, located behind the new elementary addition, allows our elementary students access directly to the playground without having to cross a road.

Big Elm Creek Watershed meeting Tuesday

ATexas Watershed Steward workshop on water quality related to Big Elm Creek will be held from 8 a.m. to 12-noon Tuesday at the Yards of Cameron, 301 Adams Avenue in Cameron.

Summer 4-H activities ahead

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Milam County 4-H will hold three free day camps and some other fun activities this summer. Fun Day Camp will be held June 8 for Clovers (K-2nd grade) at the Thorndale City Park Pavilion. We will be doing a lot of fun relays and water games.

EDUCATORS

Lambda Psi chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma—international honor society for female educators—recently installed officers. The chapter has several Rockdale members.

Milam County Child Protective Services Board has received this quilt, created by Gene Stork and Judy Morris, for use in a fund-raiser.
