Stash Your Trash ‘early’ Earth Day event

In keeping with the 2018 promise of Earth Day as more than one day the annual spring Stash Your Trash day at Fair Park is listed as part of “Earth Month.” It goes from 8 a.m. to 12-noon and is for Rock-dale residents only.

Highway work to start in fall

—This stunning quilt, crafted by family member Rola Doelitsch in memory of the late Otto Brogger Sr., and his family, was presented to the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department Monday at the fire station. The Brogger family have been longtime supporters, and members, of the Rockdale VFD.

Bringing color to a grey day

The antidote to a cold, grey, windy day was clouds of color, some “stay warm” exercise and a lot of fun. Alpha Tau Delta sorority held its 19th annual Dewberry Jam 5K Fun Run Saturday morning after a stormy night which saw temperatures drop into the 40s and winds roar above 30 miles per hour.

Milano Masonic golf tourney set for Saturday in Cameron

MILANO NEWS The annual Milano Masonic Lodge golf tournament will be held Saturday at the Cameron Country Club. Cost is $50 per player for the four-person scramble that will start at 9 a.m. Prizes will be handed out for fi rst through third place, closest to the pin, longest drive and hole-in-one.
