RHS names UIL academic winners

SOME-BUNNY’S WATCHING—Fair Park was full of “picking and grinning” Friday but it wasn’t music. The picking was hundreds of kids finding Easter eggs and the grinning was finding the eggs, candy and some special visitors.

Jobs Fair set Friday at local restaurant

Texas Disposal Systems is hiring. TDS will hold a jobs fair Friday in Rockdale at Taqueria Banda’s. The restaurant is located at 480 West US 79 in far western Rockdale across the highway from Rockdale Country Ford. The jobs fair runs from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

—The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center held a ribbon cutting Saturday for a new business, Canvas Crazee, on Main Street in downtown Rockdale. Brenda Neidhart and family along with Pat Watson, representing the Rockdale Chamber were on hand to commemorate the event.

Junior livestock show set Thursday-Saturday

CAMERON—The annual Milam County Junior Livestock Show will be held Thursday through Saturday at the Youth Exposition Building. The 2017 show raised over $300,000 for Milam County 4-H and FFA youth.

4-Hers win honors at contest

MILAM 4-H NEWS Milam County 4-H Consumer Judging Teams competed recently at the district consumer contest. Results were listed as follows: Individuals Juniors—Tessa Vaculin, 2nd; Jett Vaculin, 4th; Brady Barton, 6th; Owen Graham, 11th.
