MILANO—Louise Carpenter, 82, of Milano died Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at her home in Milano. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Gause Baptist Church with burial following at Gause Cemetery in Gause.

Crocker

Vester Lowell Crocker, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, in Temple. Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 29, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial was in Minerva Cemetery. Mr.

Peel

CAMERON—Arthur Tommy Peel, 71, of Milano died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, in a Temple hospital. Private family services will be at a later date. Mr. Peel was born Sept. 18, 1949, in Morning Star to George Howell and Edna (Berking) Peel. He married Penny Evelyn Nichols. Mr. Peel worked as a brick mason.

Phillips

Yolanda Ruenell Phillips was born on July 31, 1965, in Rockdale to the late Leroy Phillips and Doris Robertson Phillips. She was baptized at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church. She attended schools in Rockdale, graduating in 1983. Upon graduation she enrolled in Temple Junior College in Temple.

Evans

MATHIS—James O. (Zickey) Evans Sr. of Mathis, formerly of Milano, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, at home with his wife of over 50 years, Paula, by his side. He is survived by his wife, Paula; two children, James Jr.

Houser

Visitation for Harold Houser will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, with services to follow at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. He was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Scranton, Arkansas, to Herbert Houser and Ada (Gilmore) Houser. Mr.

Menke

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the memorial service for Jeanie Menke has been delayed from the planned Nov. 28 date until a date to be determined by the family. Mrs. Menke’s full obituary was published in the Oct. 15 issue of The Reporter.

Toomer

James Nelson Toomer was born on Sept. 28, 1928. He was the fifth child born to John and Millie Toomer. Nelson is preceded in death by the love of his life Nita Jean Toomer; his parents, John and Millie Toomer; brothers J.C. and Howard Toomer; and sisters Gladys Studensky and Annie Beck.

Bankston

MILANO—Virginia Lynn Bankston, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, at her home in Milano. A graveside service was held Monday, Nov. 16, at Sand Grove Cemetery in Milano Mrs. Bankston was born July 4, 1942, to Lloyd and Helen Elizabeth (Jenkins) Brock in Houston.

Brune

THRALL—On Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, Leslie “Vaughn” Brune passed away peace fully at home in Thorndale at the age of 78. Vaughn was born on Jan. 20, 1942, to Leslie Leo and Audrey Joan Rolan Brune in Houston. He graduated in 1960 from Lexington High School and joined the Army Reserves in 1964.
