4-H banquet here Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church

The Annual Milam County 4-H Banquet will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale. We will award and recognize our 4-H sponsors and leaders as well as our 4-H members. We invite our 4-H members, leaders and sponsors. We will have light refreshments and enjoy company.

RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open 10 a.m. until noon weekdays. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome, especially one-pound bags of rice, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, canned soups and peanut butter.

Tackling budget for last time

This year’s round of community communication meetings to discuss the county budget were in most respects typical of those that I’ve conducted each of the eight years that I’ve been county judge. Very few of you showed up.

‘Eggs’ topic for library program

LIBRARY NOTES Deborah Grassel, Master Egg Artist, will be presenting a program at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. Deborah Grassel was commissioned by the American Egg Board to create the 41st commemorative egg for the First Lady Melania Trump.
