Society to host First Friday Coffee

Milam County Genealogical Society will be the sponsor of First Friday Coffee this Friday, March 7 at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library. The coffee hours are 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Full Italian meal with no pasta

My friend Julie Webb told me about a good restaurant in New Orleans called Mosca’s, so I did a little searching and found some of the restaurant’s recipes online. I had never heard of Italian Crab Salad, but it sounds good to me.

One accident reported last week by police

Accidents Ofc. Wall responded to a two-vehicle minor accident with no injuries near the 1200 block of West Cameron Avenue on Feb. 25 at 5:50 p.m. Calls for Service Rockdale Police Officers responded to 160 total calls for service during the past week including 106 for 911 emergency service.

Responded to: • 814 Bushdale Road for a gas leak on Feb. 26 at 1:25 p.m. • Near the intersection of North Main Street and Elm Avenue for a gas leak on Feb. 26 at 6:13 p.m. • US 77 at US 79 for a one vehicle accident on February 28 at 9:30 p.m.

TEDC recognizes Rockdale Municipal Development District

The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) announced the recipients of its annual Economic Excellence Recognition program for 2024. The awards were presented on Friday, February 28, during the TEDC’s 2025 Winter Conference in Austin.

March 4, 2025   On March 2, 2025, the Rockdale Police Department was made aware of citizens’ concerns regarding actions taken by one of our officers during a traffic stop on the evening of March 1, 2025.

RHS grad Grayson proud of her many firsts

Barbara Grayson is the Branch Manager for the Rockdale Federal Credit Union, Thorndale Branch. A 1976 Rockdale High School graduate, Barbara was in the third or fourth grade when she made the transition from the segregated Aycock school to Rockdale Elementary.
